REKINDLE
Rekindle exists to help struggling churches within our association rediscover their God-given purpose, renew their commitment to the Great Commission, and become healthy, disciple-making congregations. Rekindle is built on the conviction that revitalization is not about starting over, but about stewarding what God has already planted and fanning the flame even if it has grown faint.
Rekindle is a one-year, funded partnership between the association and a member church, combining relational presence, strategic planning (using Resound Network materials), and material support to help a willing leadership team lead their church toward health and mission.
Guiding Conviction
A church may not need to be replaced in order to be renewed. Congregations that have grown discouraged, inward-focused, or stagnant often still carry a rich gospel history and remaining potential. Rekindle assumes the Holy Spirit can revive a willing church, and positions the association as a patient, present partner in that work.
The Three Pillars of Support
1. Relational
The heart of Rekindle is sustained relationship, not a one-time consultation. The AM walks alongside church leadership to provide regularly scheduled accountability and support. Where helpful, a pastor or leadership team from a healthy GDAB church may be matched as an informal mentor or prayer partner.
2. Strategic
Rekindle churches are guided through a structured discernment and planning process using Resound Network’s assessment and revitalization tools.
3. Material
Funding is provided to remove practical barriers to the plan’s implementation and to support the church in accomplishing its Great Commission goals.
